This event is a fundraiser for Scouting America Troop 1957. The event is being coordinated by Ami Kendra, the committee chair for Troop 1957; in an effort to lower costs of National Dues, Summer Camp fees and camping gear for scouts in Troop 1957. Ami is a seasoned crafter, having been part of the crafting scene with her own business; Turn and Splat, since 2020. But her experence working with crafters goes back to her teens and early 20’s when she helped her mother host craft events for her local fire department.

The 2nd Annual Merry Scoutmas Craft Show will begin sending applications on March 1, 2025. Any crafter that pays in full by March 31st will recieve a $20 discount.

All details regarding booth size, and booth cost will be listed on the application.

We finished up the 2023 Christmas Season at the Ida Lee Fine Arts and Crafts Christmas Event!

Ami had lung surgery shortly afterward and spent the rest of the Christmas Season recovering. But now that we are in the new year we have switched gears to our spring and summer activities! Our quail business will be consuming quite a bit of time over the next few months. Chicks need to be hatched, permits need to be renewed, eggs need to be pickled.

We are participating in one Spring Show! The Shepherdstown Easter Market!

We’ve been accepted to the Northern Virginia Christmas Show again this year! We are still looking for a few more holiday events to attend. The Maryland Christmas Show being one, and the Ida Lee Fine Arts and Crafts Holiday Show being another. Stay tuned to find out where we will be!

We are two weeks from our biggest event of the year!

Hours: Friday November 10 & Saturday November 11, 10:00 – 6:00, Sunday November 12 10:00-5:00

Location: Dulles Expo Center – South Hall, 4320 Chantilly Shopping Center, Chantilly, VA 20153.

We have applied to only four art shows for the 2023 season. But the acceptances are coming in! So far our schedule is:

The Fairfax Fall Festival – A street festival in downtown Fairfax Virginia, with food, fun activities and amazing handmade vendors! October 14th, 2023, 10am – 5pm

Ami will be there with poured art fall decor and Gift items to kick off your holiday shopping. Along with several new pieces of wall art waiting for their debut.

Northern Virginia Christmas Market – Held at the Dulles Virginia Expo Center. Tickets are available online, or are $8.00 at the door. November 10th, 11th, & 12th 2023 10am – 6pm Friday and Saturday, 10am – 5pm Sunday.

Ami will be there with Christmas Decor, Poured Art Christmas Gifts, And more new amazing pieces that will be going out for their debut.

37th Annual Holiday Craft Show – Held the the Fairfax High School, with handmade craft and art vendors. Tickets are $5 at the door. November 18th & 19th 10am – 5pm Saturday, 10am – 3pm Sunday

Mike will be there with his turned wooden art, with everything from Spice Milles, or Rolling Pins. Beautiful, and practical pieces of art, perfect for gift giving.

So sorry to have been slacking in the blog updates. It has been a hectic 4 months of 2023. Our quail egg business is doing really well and keeping us on our toes. We have been steadily working on making inventory for the holidays.

Yes, I said holidays. I know it is hard to think about being only the second week in May. But time ever marches forward.

Mike has been busy reorganizing his shop again. He has been moving some of the non shop stuff out to a storage unit, giving him more room to work.

Ami has been forging a head with several canvasses and lots of little décor pieces, perfect for gift giving.

It has been a year! We finished our last shows, and are now preparing for Christmas with our kiddos.

We will be taking the next few months to prepare for Fall/Christmas 2023. Neither of us have much left in stock. We are so thankful for all the support this year. We can’t wait to get out there again next year. Inspiration as has struck and we both can’t wait to get back in our shops.

Mike has some amazing cutting boards on deck for the coming year, and I have plan for some larger wall pieces.

We had a few really lovely warm days this November, and finally worked up the nerve to attempt one of the large canvasses I have had tucked away. This one is twice the size of any canvas I’ve done before at a whopping 2 feet x 4 feet! I decided to start with a technique that I knew would give me good results right out of the cup. I needed to build my large piece confidence. Take a look at how I did this piece!

Now that I’ve got one under my belt I am excited to try another. But cold weather is setting in, so it will be a spring time project.
